Aydin Group Researchers Present Their Work at International Perovskite Events
Cem Yilmaz and Pratik Kalvikatte represented the Aydin Group at international conferences and workshops, presenting our research and engaging with the wider perovskite research community.
Sharing our research and connecting with the community
Participation in international conferences and scientific workshops is an important part of the research activities in the Aydin Group. These meetings provide opportunities for our researchers to present their latest results, discuss emerging ideas, and exchange perspectives with colleagues working across the perovskite photovoltaics community.
This September, Cem Yilmaz and Pratik Kalvikatte represented the group at two different international meetings in Switzerland and Germany.
Cem Yilmaz at PSCO 2026 in Lausanne
Cem Yilmaz, PhD student in the Aydin Group, joined the 9th International Conference on Perovskite Solar Cells and Optoelectronics (PSCO 2026) in Lausanne, Switzerland, held from 23–25 September 2026 at the SwissTech Convention Center near EPFL.
PSCO brings together researchers from academia and industry working across perovskite materials, photovoltaics, optoelectronics, and related areas, providing a broad forum for presenting new results and discussing developments across the field.
At the conference, Cem presented our recent work on the thermal fatigue resistance of perovskite solar cells under extreme temperature cycling. The study, published in Nature Communications, investigates thermal cycling between −80 °C and +80 °C and molecular strategies to reinforce interfaces and grain boundaries against thermomechanical degradation.

Beyond presenting the group's work, the meeting gave Cem the opportunity to exchange ideas with researchers from across the international perovskite community and to discuss current challenges in improving the stability of perovskite photovoltaic technologies.

Pratik Kalvikatte, PhD student in the Aydin Group, also joined the September 2026 workshop of DFG Priority Programme SPP 2196, “Perovskite Semiconductors: From Fundamental Properties to Devices.”
SPP 2196 brings together interdisciplinary research groups working to understand the fundamental properties of perovskite semiconductors and their relationship to device performance, combining expertise across chemistry, materials science, physics, and device engineering.
The Aydin Group joined SPP 2196 at a later stage of the programme, providing an opportunity to connect our research on perovskite-based tandem solar cells with the broader scientific network established through the programme.
During the workshop, Pratik represented the Aydin Group and engaged with researchers working on perovskite materials, interfaces, transport, stability, and device technologies. His participation also provided an opportunity to discuss our work on high-mobility transparent conducting oxides for perovskite-based tandem solar cells.

We are pleased to see our researchers actively participating in international conferences and scientific networks, sharing results from the Aydin Group while learning from and engaging with the wider perovskite community.
