The CeNS/CRC392 Interdisciplinary Workshop, co-organized by Dr. Erkan Aydin, took place in Venice, Italy, bringing together talented young researchers and leading scientists from the fields of physics, chemistry, and molecular evolution.

This workshop, jointly organized by the Center for NanoScience (CeNS) and the Collaborative Research Center 392 (CRC392) “Molecular Evolution”, aimed to foster scientific exchange between early-career researchers and experienced experts. The program featured a series of talks providing graduate students and postdoctoral researchers with a comprehensive overview of cutting-edge research topics in nanometer-scale science and origin-of-life studies.

In this year’s program, Dr. Aydin served as one of the co-organizers, representing LMU Chemistry (full details available on the CeNS website). The event began on Monday, September 22, at 4:00 PM and concluded on Friday, September 26 at 1:30 PM.

Distinguished invited speakers included Prof. Alex Jen (City University of Hong Kong)Prof. Aditya Mohite (Rice University), and Prof. Kwanyong Seo (UNIST), Dr. Esma Ugur (LMU Munich), alongside other renowned professors who shared insights into the latest advances in nanoscience and molecular evolution.

The CeNS/CRC392 workshop continues to inspire cross-disciplinary collaboration, strengthening the ties between physics, chemistry, and life sciences. We look forward to the next edition of this inspiring event and future opportunities to connect with colleagues across disciplines.

Stay tuned for more updates on upcoming CeNS activities.
