Call for Applications: DAAD PhD Scholarship Opportunities at the Aydin Group

The Aydin Group at LMU Munich is thrilled to announce that we are now accepting applications for DAAD PhD Scholarships starting in 2026!

Our research focuses on developing high-efficiency perovskite-based solar cells for both Earth and space applications. Within this exciting field, we offer several PhD projects tailored to the expertise and ambitions of highly motivated candidates who are passionate about cutting-edge science and collaborative team spirit. The Aydin Group maintains a strong research program dedicated to realizing realistic, high-performance devices.

In DAAD phase, an independent selection committee of expert scientists will review applications. The DAAD selection process consists of two phases:

Online application through the DAAD portal before the deadline.
The interview stage follows the evaluation of research proposals.

Notifications from regional DAAD offices are typically sent out in February 2026.

Scholarship Highlights

Monthly stipend: €1,400 (starting October 2026)
Possible rent subsidy and health insurance support
Additional allowances for partners and children (see DAAD guidelines for details)

Application Procedure (for candidates from India)

Internal deadline for the Aydin Group: September 15, 2025

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the deadline.
Final decisions will be announced shortly after September 15.

DAAD official deadline (India): End of October 2025

The application requires a research proposal, motivation letter, CV, and a hosting letter, as well as other documents stated by the local office.
Late submissions cannot be considered.
