Dr. Erkan Aydin Delivers Invited Talk at PV Manufacturing Workshop in Türkiye about Pathways Toward Commercial Perovskite/Silicon Tandem Photovoltaics
October 30, 2025
Dr. Erkan Aydin delivered an invited talk at “The PV Manufacturing Workshop: Industrial Solar Cell and Module Production in Türkiye”, held on 30 October 2025. The event was jointly organized by ODTÜ-GÜNAM and Fraunhofer ISE and brought together leading experts from academia and industry to discuss the latest developments in photovoltaic manufacturing.
Dr. Aydin’s presentation, titled “Pathways Toward Commercial Perovskite/Silicon Tandem Photovoltaics,” focused on the opportunities and challenges in translating tandem solar technologies from the laboratory to large-scale production.
“Being a Turkish PI leading a team in Germany, I was delighted to engage with colleagues from both Germany and Türkiye to discuss the opportunities and challenges for Türkiye as Europe’s rising PV manufacturing hub,” said Dr. Aydin.
Throughout the workshop, participants explored advanced PV technologies such as TOPCon, HJT, and Perovskite/Tandem solar cells, as well as innovations in manufacturing and Türkiye’s growing role in the global photovoltaic industry. The sessions fostered a highly interactive and forward-looking atmosphere, driven by the insights of prominent figures from the solar energy sector.
Special thanks are extended to all speakers, partners, and participants for their valuable contributions, and in particular to Fraunhofer ISE for their strong collaboration and support in organizing this joint event.
