Farewell to Dr. Rik Hooijer
Dr. Rik Hooijer has completed two highly productive years as a postdoctoral researcher in the Aydin Group and is now embarking on the next chapter of his academic journey in Canada.
Dr. Hooijer was among the first members of the Aydin Group. He obtained his PhD degree under the supervision of Prof. Thomas Bein in 2024. During his time with us, he made significant contributions to several research articles led by our group as well as to important international collaborations. Beyond his scientific output, he also played a key role in establishing and setting up several laboratory instruments during the early phase of the group’s development.
We said goodbye to Dr. Hooijer during a barbecue gathering organized in front of our academic building. This event also marked the first barbecue of 2026 after the winter season, with many more planned to follow.
We would like to sincerely thank Dr. Hooijer for his valuable contributions and wish him great success in the next stage of his academic career. The Aydin Group continues to aim for cutting-edge research and supports researchers who progress toward leading positions in prestigious international research institutions.
