We continue hosting the field experts in our faculty. Dr. Felix Lang Visits Aydın Group, Presents Talk on Perovskite-Based PV for Space

March 18, 2025

Dr. Felix Lang from the University of Potsdam recently visited the Aydın Group and delivered an insightful talk on "Perovskite-Based Single and Multijunction PV for Space." His presentation focused on the latest advancements in perovskite solar cells, particularly in their application for next-generation electronics in space and medical technologies.

As the leader of the ROSI-Freigeist Junior Group at the University of Potsdam—funded by the Volkswagen Foundation—Dr. Lang and his team are at the forefront of exploring soft perovskite semiconductors. His talk covered recent progress in solar cell development, starting with single-junction perovskite devices before transitioning to tandem architectures, where perovskites are paired with additional absorbers such as other perovskites or organic materials.

Dr. Lang’s expertise stems from an extensive academic journey. He studied physics at TU München and FU Berlin, earning his Ph.D. from TU Berlin, where he investigated the stability and degradation of perovskite solar cells at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin. As a Feodor-Lynen Fellow, he later joined the Cavendish Laboratory at the University of Cambridge, focusing on next-generation perovskite tandem photovoltaics for space applications.

His recent Freigeist Fellowship from the Volkswagen Foundation supports his pioneering research in perovskite-based electronics for space and medical applications, positioning his group at the cutting edge of this transformative field.

We thank Dr. Lang for his engaging talk and valuable discussions with our team!
