Pratik Kalvikatte from IIT Bombay joins the Aydin Group as PhD Student with prestigious DAAD scholarship
October 1, 2025
We are delighted to welcome Pratik Kalvikatte to the Aydin Group at LMU Munich as a PhD student, supported by the prestigious DAAD scholarship.
Pratik earned his Bachelor’s degree in Nanoscience & Technology from Shivaji University, India, and completed his Master’s in Energy Science & Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. During his master’s project, “High Mobility Transparent Conductor Oxide for Multi-Junction Solar Cells,” he investigated the electrical and optical properties of transparent conducting oxides (TCOs) deposited via RF magnetron sequential sputtering.
At LMU Munich, Pratik’s PhD research focuses on damage-free sputtering techniques and the development of high-mobility TCOs for highly efficient perovskite-based tandem solar cells. His work will contribute to advancing the group’s goals in both Earth and Space photovoltaics.
We warmly welcome Pratik to our team and are confident he will thrive in our research environment while pushing forward our ambitious projects.
