Sunwoo Kim from KNU, South Korea, Joins Aydin Group as a Visiting PhD Researcher Working on All-Perovskite Tandem Solar Cells
February 27, 2026
Sunwoo Kim, a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Advanced Materials Engineering at Kyungpook National University (KNU), has joined the Department of Chemistry at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU) as a visiting doctoral researcher. His research focuses on next-generation photovoltaic technologies, particularly perovskite-based tandem solar cells.
During his stay at LMU, Sunwoo will work on all-perovskite tandem solar cells, with a special emphasis on wide-bandgap perovskite absorbers. His research aims to address key challenges in interface engineering and material optimization to improve both device efficiency and long-term stability.
This research visit is part of ongoing Korea–Germany collaborative efforts in advanced energy materials. Through this collaboration, Sunwoo Kim aims to contribute to the development of innovative material strategies that support the advancement of high-efficiency and stable perovskite photovoltaic technologies for sustainable energy applications.
