Biography

Annabel Saar is an exchange student at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), visiting from Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech), Estonia, where she is pursuing her Master’s degree in Green Energy Technologies. She also holds a B.Sc. in Materials Technology from TalTech. During her exchange, she is conducting research under the supervision of Dr. Amit Kumar in the Aydin Group at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU), focusing on perovskite/C60 interface engineering.

Previously at TalTech’s Laboratory of Photovoltaic Materials, her research focused on kesterite-based materials for indoor photovoltaics, specifically studying Li-doped Cu2ZnSnS4 thin-film absorbers. She has co-authored a peer-reviewed paper in the Journal of Materials Chemistry A and a manuscript currently under review in Solar Energy.

Her academic work has been recognized with a Best Poster Award at the E-MRS 2026 Spring Meeting in Strasbourg, France. She has presented her research internationally, including an oral presentation in Berlin (2025) and a poster presentation in Tallinn, both held within the framework of the Kesterite+ and ReNewPV Workshop.
